Yatharth Hospital Unveiled: Illegal Transplants, Tax Scandal, and Negligence Plague Noida’s Healthcare Giant

Yatharth Hospital, a major healthcare provider in Noida, is facing a severe credibility crisis as a series of damning scandals come to light. Once a respected name in the industry, the hospital is now under intense scrutiny following revelations of illegal organ transplants, financial misconduct, and grave negligence.

The National Organ & Tissue Transplant Organization (NOTTO), the central body responsible for overseeing organ transplants, has demanded an urgent report from the Uttar Pradesh government. This follows the exposure of a major illegal organ transplant racket linking Yatharth Hospital to Indraprastha Apollo Hospital in Delhi. Investigations have revealed that a senior transplant surgeon, D Vijaya Rajakumari, was performing unauthorized kidney transplants at Yatharth Hospital, resulting in the arrest of Rajakumari and six others involved in this illicit operation.

The scandal has not only put Yatharth Hospital in the crosshairs of national health authorities but has also revealed a broader issue of regulatory failure in the organ transplant sector. The severity of the situation is compounded by additional revelations of tax evasion, as the Income Tax Department conducted raids on Yatharth Hospital’s facilities across Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. These raids uncovered significant financial irregularities, further damaging the hospital’s already troubled reputation.

Yatharth Hospital’s record of negligence adds another layer of distress to this unfolding drama. Last year, a catastrophic lift malfunction at its Noida facility injured four individuals, highlighting critical lapses in safety protocols. Moreover, during the COVID-19 pandemic, an FIR was filed against Yatharth doctors for alleged negligence that led to patient deaths. This charge, under Section 304A of the Indian Penal Code, underscores a troubling pattern of failures in patient care.

In response to the ongoing investigations, Yatharth Hospital has claimed that it was unaware of the illegal activities and that the implicated doctor was an independent contractor. However, these defenses have failed to convince the public and regulatory bodies, who are calling for a thorough and impartial inquiry.

As the situation continues to develop, Yatharth Hospital faces an uphill battle to restore its reputation. The mounting evidence of corruption and negligence raises serious questions about the institution’s ability to uphold the basic standards of medical care and financial integrity. With public trust at stake, the future of Yatharth Hospital hangs in the balance as authorities and patients await further revelations and accountability.
