Daylight Heist in Bengaluru: Thieves Smash Car Windows, Steal Laptops and Valuables
On August 22, a daring daylight robbery unfolded in Bengaluru’s bustling Indiranagar. A gang of two thieves executed a bold heist by breaking into parked cars on a busy street, making off with laptops and other valuables. Their swift and calculated approach involved one thief distracting a security guard while the other used a special tool to smash car windows.
Surya, a victim of the robbery, took to social media to alert the public and call for urgent police action. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), he described the incident: “On August 22, around 7:30 pm, thieves targeted four cars on Indiranagar Main 100 ft road near Global Desi and Westside. They broke the windows and stole three bags containing laptops and valuables. I’m one of the victims.”
Surya also shared CCTV footage that captured the heist, showing the thieves’ methodical approach. “One thief silently breaks the windows with a special device while the other keeps the security guard occupied,” he explained.
The footage reveals the thieves swiftly grabbing the bags and fleeing, all while surrounded by pedestrians. Surya expressed frustration over the repeated incidents in the area and urged the Bengaluru Police to take immediate action.
“Bengaluru streets are becoming increasingly unsafe,” Surya warned. “The police need to investigate and act fast to prevent future thefts.”
He also advised residents to keep valuables out of sight in their cars and to spread the word to raise awareness. “Stay alert and stay safe, Bengaluru!”
